FABRICATION SPECIALTIES / STAINLESS STEEL WORK TABLES
Stainless Steel Work Tables: A work surface shaped around the task.
Define a stainless work table around the operation, the available space and the cleaning routine. Coordinate the top, frame, shelves and access so the finished piece supports the way the room is used.
FUNCTION / FIT / FINISH
Define the part in its working context.
A custom table brief should identify working height, clear knee or equipment space, loading and the relationship to walls and services. Include upstands, cutouts, undershelves and any requirement for adjustable feet or mobility.
Stainless grade and finish should be selected for the actual exposure and cleaning chemicals. A brushed appearance does not by itself establish cleanability or food-contact suitability. Where hygienic design or certification is required, document the project criteria and the responsible approval process.
APPLICATIONS
Where the scope begins.
Preparation surfaces
Tables and benches with defined worktop dimensions, splashbacks and adjacent equipment interfaces.
Facility workstations
Stainless benches for sorting, packing or maintenance tasks with shelf and clearance requirements.
Equipment stands
Supports with specified loads and footprint, coordinated with the equipment manufacturer and site layout.
DESIGN / PROCUREMENT
Resolve the details before fabrication.
Worktop and edges
Specify top thickness or approved construction, edge profile, upstand height and cutout locations. Identify sharp-edge and visible-finish acceptance requirements.
Cleaning and exposure
Provide cleaning agents and procedures. Discuss joints, crevices, drainage and access with the designer responsible for the application.
Support and access
State distributed and point loads, shelf loads and clear openings. If casters are requested, define stability and floor conditions for review.
QUOTE PREPARATION
Send the workstation requirements.
Room and layout
Include overall dimensions, adjacent surfaces, service connections and delivery access. Confirm who measures the site.
Material and finish
Identify the specified stainless grade, visible grain direction and any sample requirement. State required documentation separately.
Options and acceptance
List shelves, upstands, cutouts, feet and installation scope. Identify any food-service or laboratory approval required before fabrication.
Connect material and process.
Scope, material suitability, process availability and any inspection or installation commitments are confirmed through project review.

CONNECTED PROCESSES
Complete the fabrication scope.
QUESTIONS / ANSWERS
Before you specify.
Is every stainless table suitable for food preparation?
No. Material, joints, surface condition, cleaning access and applicable project requirements all matter. Identify food-contact use and any required certification in the brief.
Can the table include a backsplash or lower shelf?
Include the dimensions, clearances and loading for each feature. Their construction and integration are reviewed with the complete table scope.
Which stainless grade should I specify?
Share the exposure and cleaning chemistry with the responsible material specifier. Grade selection should follow those conditions rather than appearance alone.
Can a table fit an irregular space?
Provide a dimensioned layout and identify who verifies the site. Templates, wall irregularities and installation allowances may need to be resolved before release.
