CAPABILITIES / INSTALLATION COORDINATION

Installation Coordination: Connect the fabrication scope to the site.

Plan how the fabricated assembly reaches its final position and connects to the building or equipment. Site services are assessed by location, access and project requirements.

CONTEXT / REQUIREMENTS

Understand the role in fabrication.

Installation coordination starts before fabrication where dimensions, shipping splits or connection access depend on site conditions. Define the boundary between supply, delivery, unloading, placement and permanent fixing.

Site work may require licensed trades, engineering review, permits or specialized controls. The responsible parties, qualifications and availability must be confirmed in the project scope. A fabrication quote should not be read as an automatic commitment to carry out every site activity.

APPLICATIONS / COMPONENTS

Where it fits the project.

Examples for scoping a project. Final suitability depends on the design and operating conditions.

01

Fit-out metalwork

Panels, fixtures and trim coordinated with finished building surfaces.

02

Equipment assemblies

Frames and covers positioned around operating and maintenance clearances.

03

Structural interfaces

Connection details and erection responsibilities defined by the project team.

04

Replacement components

Removal and replacement sequences planned around existing services and access.

SPECIFICATION / REVIEW

Design considerations that shape the process.

01

Verify site conditions

Identify survey responsibility, substrates, anchor locations and dimensions affected by other trades.

02

Plan access and work controls

Describe loading routes, lifting constraints, occupancy, isolations and permitted hours.

03

Define scope and handover

Name the installer, connection responsibilities, required inspections and acceptance documentation.

CONNECTED PROCESSES

Complete the fabrication scope.

QUESTIONS / ANSWERS

Before you specify.

Is installation included in every quote?

No. Supply-only, delivery and site-work scopes must be distinguished. Include the location and installation needs so feasibility and responsibilities can be reviewed.

Who provides final site dimensions?

The project must identify the survey and approval responsibility. Parts dependent on existing conditions should not be released on unverified measurements.

DEFINE YOUR PROJECT

Put installation coordination in the project brief.

Include the application, drawings, material preferences, quantities, delivery location and schedule. Identify inspection and installation requirements for review.
